Young Carers
Young Carers in Schools is an England-wide initiative that equips schools to identify and support young carers.
Miss Haddock, Mrs Garner and Miss Copeland are currently working towards the Bronze Award, which celebrates our schools commitment to young carers.
Young Carers are children and young people who provide care to another family member. The level of care they provide would usually be undertaken by an adult and as a result of this they take on a level of responsibility that is inappropriate to their age and development. This is likely to have a significant impact on their childhood experiences.
Signpost runs special activity groups for the young carers to enable a break from caring responsibilities such as games nights, picnics and parties.
