School Uniform

At Arden Primary School, we have high standards and expectations for all of our children - and this includes how we present ourselves as a school community.

We believe that wearing our uniform smartly helps children to feel a sense of pride and belonging. It is part of being a member of the Arden family: helping children to feel included, ready to learn and proud to represent their school.

Our uniform is designed to be smart, comfortable, practical and affordable, ensuring children are ready for every aspect of school life, including outdoor learning and OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) playtimes.

We recognise that there may be occasions when families experience difficulties providing the correct uniform. Where this happens, we will always work with families to remove barriers. We have a good supply of pre-loved and spare uniform in school and will provide children with items they need.

We ask families to support us in maintaining our high standards by ensuring children attend school each day wearing the correct uniform.

Please make sure that all clothes worn at school are clearly marked with your child’s name so that lost property can be returned to the correct child.

The Department for Education (DfE) recognises that uniform:

“can play a key role in promoting the ethos of a school, providing a sense of belonging and identity and setting an appropriate tone for education.”
