Community Cafe
It's really important to me that education spans beyond the classroom. At Arden, we know that supporting the emotional and social development of our children is just as important as their academic learning. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new Community Café sessions - a fantastic opportunity for parents and carers to gain valuable insights, strategies and expert support from Martin Wilcock, our Inclusion Lead Teacher.
These fortnightly sessions will cover a range of important topics, from anxiety and emotional coaching to behaviour management, transitions and school avoidance. We know that parenting comes with challenges and we want to provide a space where you can ask questions, share experiences and learn practical approaches to support your child. Of course, no café would be complete without a brew and some biscuits - so we're throwing them in too!
Here’s what’s coming up:
☕ Mon 3rd March, 2:30pm – Anxiety and Emotion Coaching
☕ Mon 17th March, 2:30pm – Behaviour and the Crisis Curve
☕ Fri 4th April, 2:30pm – Wellbeing and Scaling
☕ Fri 9th May, 9:00am – Anxiety and the Stairway to Bravery
☕ Fri 23rd May, 9:00am – Behaviour, Rewards and Consequences
☕ Fri 20th June, 9:00am – Wellbeing and School Avoidance
☕ Fri 4th July, 9:00am – Transition from Year 6 to Year 7
☕ Fri 18th July, 9:00am – Transition to New Classes
Each session will also have a drop-in Q&A, where you can chat with staff and seek advice on anything that’s on your mind.
We’d love for you to join us at the Community Café. Whether you’re looking for guidance on a particular issue or simply want to connect with other parents over a cup of tea, these sessions are open to all in the Arden community. Supporting our children starts with supporting each other - and we can’t wait to welcome you.
See you there!
