World Book Day

07 Mar

What a fantastic day we had yesterday at Arden celebrating World Book Day! The school was buzzing with excitement as children arrived dressed in a variety of outfits - comfy clothes, pyjamas, or as their favourite book character - the buzz around school and the creativity on display was simply incredible.

From Harry Potter and Matilda to The Gruffalo and even William Shakespeare, it was clear that a lot of thought and effort had gone into every costume. It was wonderful to see the children so enthusiastic about books and storytelling – and the staff didn’t disappoint either! A special thank you must go to Mr Whalley, who kicked off the day's proceedings with a fabulously interactive whole-school assembly!

Children took part in a range of fun activities, centred around this year's theme of 'Read Your Way'. From designing book covers and writing alternative endings to character quizzes and storytelling sessions, the focus was all about encouraging a love of reading.

A big thank you to all the parents and carers who helped make this day so special by supporting with costumes and encouraging their children’s love of reading at home. Days like this remind us of the joy that books bring into our lives and the power of a great story to spark the imagination and take us to a faraway place.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year – but in the meantime, keep reading and discovering new adventures between the pages of a book!
